Some Favorite Pies & Tarts To Make for Thanksgiving
Happy Friday and welcome to Day 5 of Pie Week!! Today, a little roundup of some of our tried snd true favorites around here ‘cause while we all love trying new treats, there are some pies and tarts that we can’t imagine celebrating the holidays without! So have fun scrolling through (excuse some of the less-than-good photos, many of these are from when I first began blogging 😘) while I go do an extra workout!! There was a lot of pie this week!!
All Butter Pie Crust + The Rules
If you’re feeling a little iffy about making a homemade pie crust, take a look at this post where I talk you through the whole endeavor and how to avoid some of the pitfalls ‘cause there’s nothing like a homemade crust!
Chocolate crust, gooey caramel filling all covered with a dark chocolate ganache plus a little flaky sea salt—how can you go wrong?!!
The brown sugar filling gets almost chewy and there’s a delightful cranberry syrup that balances out the tartness of the whole cranberries plus a very forgiving crust. And it’s so colorful and festive!
If you like your apple pie on the less sweet side, this pie is for you. The cranberries really balance out the apples and the sweet, buttery cinnamon crumb topping.
With a fudgy chocolate filling, flaky pie crust and piles of sweetened whipped cream, it’s easy to see why this is a beloved pie among our crew! Besides, Thanksgiving can always use more chocolate!
I ❤️❤️❤️ pecan pie big time! But this tart is now my favorite. The tart dough is a little more forgiving than rolling out and crimping traditional pie dough and I love the addition of the maple syrup to the gooey pecan filling!
This is probably the pie my two boys request the most and it just wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without it! A sweet cinnamon apple filling, flaky pie crust and a buttery streusel topping—I can’t say I blame them!!
